I clenched my fist and uttered a small prayer. Inside were the two objects of my fate. And it was all up to me to make good use of it. And a lot of luck. I tossed the two objects, and they rolled for a bit until they came to a stop between me and my opponent. I was afraid to look. I was afraid I had lost it all. But this was it. This was where my luck would turn around and I would see the light of another day. At least, I hoped.

“Oy, Frevie. Gonna have another. Didn’t feel ‘nough of a buzz yet.”
With a nod and out of habit, I swiftly handed the man another tankard of amber liquid, taking the coins he slid onto the counter and dropping them into the box. I pulled out a cloth and started wiping the worn wood counters clean. Even though these sturdy counters had seen better days, it didn’t mean I could let them be unsightly.
The man finished downing his drink, and let out a heavy sigh of relief. He shimmied around a bit, then pulled out a pouch that looked to be mostly empty. He opened the string and dumped its contents onto the counter,

“What am I looking at?”
The man was standing on duty in front of a feminine figure, who had been quietly surveying the parchment he had handed her. She was seated on a simple, oaken chair, adorned with various vines and branches around its tall, slender frame. A slender, authoritative frame that matched the figure sitting in it.
“This is a letter from an undisclosed messenger departing from Bilgewater, m’lady.”
The woman read over it one more time, then her face displayed shock. Realization had struck her. She was on her feet in a split second, shoving the letter in the man’s face and almost shouting,

The robed figure thought deeply to himself while remaining vigilant. Months… no, years of planning were finally coming to fruition. But all he could think was morbid thoughts.
It’s been so long… am I doing the right thing? Is the truth worth the consequences?
The mysterious man shook these thoughts away.
I didn’t go through all this trouble to back out now. It’s now time to make my way to the rendezvous.

These phrases kept running through Sion’s mind over and over. That creature was right. Such things were not meant to be seen by man.
I didn’t even know what I was looking at. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t think. All I could do was watch… I can’t even grace such things with a description.
Sion had never felt fear like this since he was a child. When the military dogs of Noxus would knock him around in their free time, finding different ways to hurt the youth, to watch him try to squirm away and hold back the tears. But those days ended

Talon knew his predicament. He knew that the wagon cell they were in was impossible to escape from while inside. For that reason, Swain did not mind removing their weapons off their person, but did not take the time to remove the plethora of blades Talon had hidden in every crevice and fold of his garb. As Talon watched the battle commence and the desperate attempt to contain Sion with chains, he heard a stirring to his left. Katarina was coming to.

Talon awoke to find he was slumped forward on the ground of a small, dark space. The only light he could see was between the bars at the door of this cell. Next to him was a figure who was still unconscious, and in the dim light he recognized it as Katarina. Cassiopeia was nowhere to be found.
Looking through the bars, Talon saw rows upon rows of troops. At the front, was Swain himself, and the juggernaut Sion whom had seemed to calm down enough to stand idle. Swain was talking, and Talon heard enough to know Swain was ordering a clean sweep of the wreckage of the Dead Pool. Talon knew that he was powerless now, and that Swain wo

The only thing that could be heard was the rattling of the wagon’s wheels, and the clanging of the troop’s armor around him. The chains around his arms rattled and clanged, but he himself knew they wouldn’t hold him for long.
We’ve stopped. Does that mean… WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!? LET ME FREE, GENERAL!

Meiko casually walked to the largest part of the ship on the deck, politely asking all the crew members in Ionian dialect to stay out of the way, by the looks of it. It took only seconds for the crew to oblige and move, knowing that this was something that was going to be a spectacle. As the preparations were complete, Talon walked into the field. He removed his usual cloak and threw it off into an empty space where one of the crew were not gathered to watch. When he did this, the hundreds of blades he had strapped to him became visible. Meiko looked a little surprised, then chuckled.
“Are you sure you’re not ready?”

The person in question was rumored to have been Boram Darkwill’s daughter, the second heir to the leadership after Darkwill’s deceased son. The details are dull, but somehow his daughter never made it to the convoy meant to transport her away from Noxus. However, the silver chest she placed under the protection of the convoy had many important Noxian secrets. For safekeeping from Demacia and Noxus both, the che

More chapters will be added to Live and Die By the Blade because I feel I cheated you guys out of real suspense. So hold the handrail, and buckle up because it's gonna be a ride!
Last chapters coming a little slowly, but I'm getting there. Just trying to not rush it, because I would rather come out with late content rather than half-assed or rushed content. I'll try to not keep you guys waiting, so if you have anything to say...
Going to be wrapping up Live and Die by the Blade pretty soon! The story is going to last another 2-3 chapters, if I estimate it correctly. Don't worry, though. I'll make them long chapters. :)
